Friday, November 3, 12:00 p.m. - Panel on Refugee Issues
Building Bridges to New Lives for Refugees
Refugees predate modern history. Wherever there has been upheaval—either political, economic, social or environmental—families in need have emerged from those trying times. Many seek freedom to live in peace according to their practices; many seek new opportunities; some flee dark memories that can haunt them for years.
Join us for a moderated conversation of distinguished panelists shedding light on challenges refugees have faced, and on the ways that families, communities and enterprises have responded to recent crises. The panel will touch on the pressures driving refugees to seek a new land, and the conundrum between wishing to return, versus sinking roots into their new home. It will explore in depth a few doors that opened in new lands, and the pathways that are still difficult to navigate.
