About the Artists

A select member of jazz’s piano pantheon, Fred Hersch is a pervasively influential creative force who has shaped the music’s course over more than three decades as an improviser, composer, educator, bandleader, collaborator and recording artist. More

Saxophonist Donny McCaslin has released over a dozen albums as a bandleader. He is noted for collaborations with Dave Douglas, Maria Schneider, and Lan Xang, as well as work with David Bowie on his final studio album, Blackstar, released days before Bowie's 2016 death. More

Multiple Grammy nominee and Guggenheim and MacArthur Fellow Miguel Zenón is widely regarded as one of the most groundbreaking and influential saxophonists of his generation, perfecting a fine mix between Latin American Folkloric Music and Jazz. More

Bassist Jorge Roeder has become renowned as one of the most versatile and expressive bass players in jazz today, combining a symphonic imagination with the intimate lyricism of a folk musician, the aggressive energy of a raw rocker with the buoyant rhythmic sensibilities of his Afro-Peruvian roots. More

Dubbed "a major rhythm voice on the rise" by Downbeat magazine, Richie Barshay can be found on tour and recordings with names like Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Esperanza Spalding, The Klezmatics, Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, Lee Konitz, Natalie Merchant, Bobby McFerrin, and Pete Seeger among others.
