Professor Michael Meyer, Ph.D.

Michael Meyer is one of the world's most distinguished Jewish historians, with an academic career spanning six decades. Professor Emeritus at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Professor Meyer was born in Berlin and came to the United States in 1941. He is an authority on the history of German Jewry, having published numerous prize-winning books, including The Origins of the Modern Jew, Response to Modernity, and Rabbi Leo Baeck. He is the former Chair of the Center for Jewish History's Academic Advisory Council and former International President of the Leo Baeck Institute.
