1. Credit or Direct Debit: If you would like to make a one-time or recurring gift by credit card or direct debit, follow this link and select "Build a Better Life Campaign" as the designation.

  2. Pledge: If you would like to make a pledge gift, follow this link. Pledges can be paid over 3-5 years.

  3. Check: Write a check payable to “BCNC” and mail it to: BCNC, Development Department, 885 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02111. Please note "Campaign" on the memo line.
  4. Securities or Appreciated Property: We accept stock or other appreciated property. The sale of such can be facilitated by BCNC staff via your broker and our broker. Giving low cost basis stock is almost always advantageous to the donor for tax purposes in that there is no capital gains tax for the donor.

  5. Matching Gifts: Many companies match the charitable gifts of their employees. Company policies vary on amounts matched and the kinds of campaigns and institutions for which gifts are designated. If you have questions on company matches, call the HR/Personnel Office of your company or search here. You must obtain and fill out the form and forward it to BCNC to secure the match.

  6. Bequests: BCNC is grateful for such provision in your estate plan or will. However, there is no Campaign or other gift credit for such a provision unless it is an irrevocable bequest, or is an approved part of a “cash” commitment.

  7. Selected Planned Gift vehicles such as the "Charitable Gift Annuity" or "Charitable Remainder Trust" might qualify for Campaign credit if the donor or donors are age 70+. A charitable gift annuity is a form of planned giving in which a donor makes a large gift to a charity, and in exchange, the donor receives a partial tax deduction for their gift and a fixed stream of income from the charity for the rest of their life. When combined with an outright cash/securities gift, the Campaign credit given could be significant. A charitable gift annuity provides several benefits: fixed income for life with payments made to you alone or to you and your spouse; an income tax deduction; no loss to capital gain taxes on appreciated securities; and a portion of the annuity payment is tax-free.

BCNC uses the rate suggested by the American Council on Gift Annuities for donors who wishes to set up a gift charitable gift annuity. Please reference the rates on this website.

Be sure to check with your financial advisor(s) about all gifts/pledges using securities or bequests.
