Description

Come participate in the International Coastal Cleanup at Slater Park AND have fun geocaching with Blackstone Heritage Corridor!

Blackstone Heritage Corridor volunteers will lead participants in a geocache adventure in this "Cache In, Trash Out" event! While hunting for geocaches, we will clean up trash along the way and record what we find on data sheets. The resulting data will be included in the Ocean Conservancy's annual report on marine debris. Meet behind the Looff Carousel at 825 Armistice Blvd, Pawtucket, RI.

Save The Bay will provide the trash bags, data cards, pencils, and disposable gloves for trash pickup. All volunteers should dress for the weather and wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toed shoes are required. All volunteers must be able to do some light to moderate bending and lifting. Volunteers under 16 must participate with an adult. Volunteers must have their own transportation to the event. All volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable gloves, water bottle and snacks to the cleanup event.

Please complete our waiver and bring it with you THE DAY OF the event. We will have extra copies on hand if you are unable to print. Volunteers under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent.

Any questions or trouble signing up? Just email volunteer@savebay.org or call July Lewis at 401-272-3540 x130 and we'll get you registered! For more information on the geocaching part of the event, contact Bonnie Combs at bcombs@BlackstoneHeritageCorridor.org or call (508) 234-4242.
