Description

Come participate in the International Coastal Cleanup at the New England Science and Sailing's (NESS) 7th annual Catch-A-Curl Youth Surf Contest & Beach Clean Up! This clean-up will be led by staff from NESS and the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) and will also include educational activities. Interested in participating in the contest too? Register here!

At this event, we will clean up the shore and record what we find on data sheets. The resulting data will be included in the Ocean Conservancy's annual report on marine debris.

Please bring your own water bottle, bucket and/or work gloves to reduce single-use items at this event. Additional buckets, bags, and gloves will be provided. All volunteers should dress for the weather and wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty. Closed-toed shoes are required. All volunteers must be able to do some light to moderate bending and lifting. Volunteers under 16 must participate with an adult. Volunteers must have their own transportation to the event.  Teams are welcome!

Please complete our waiver and bring it with you THE DAY OF the event. We will have extra copies on hand if you are unable to print. Volunteers under 18 must have their waiver signed by a parent.

Any trouble signing up? Just email volunteer@savebay.org or call July Lewis at 401-272-3540 x130 and we'll get you registered!
