Exciting changes within the MHP
Foundation have led to a boom
of activity to begin 2023!
MARCH
2023
A Q UART ERL Y UPDAT E
Dear MHP and Shelby County CommunityWhat an exciting year of growth and change for Shelby County and the MHP
Community. I am honored to be a part of this new year of change. Prior to
becoming a team member for Major Health Partners, my career was developed
within the YMCA of both Indianapolis and Shelbyville. My roles included Wellness
Director, Personal Trainer, Community Health Advocate, Executive Director and
more! It was through those roles and experiences that my level of career
development grew exponentially.
Born and raised on a dairy farm in the small town of Hanover, Indiana, I learned
early on what it takes to succeed. It was through being on the farm with my family
and watching my parents that I learned just how important relationship building,
hard work, honesty, and a good hand shake really were. They may seem simple, but
to me, they were everything. I’d like to think that determination carried over to me
in my will to succeed. With that succession, I am truly humbled to have been
chosen to carry on in Angela’s footsteps. I wholeheartedly plan to give it my all to
fill her shoes as much as I can. She is an incredible woman and I know she will
continue to be an excellent mentor to me on this journey.
I am excited to take the foundation to the next level. With the support of my
husband Shea, my three children and Shelbyville as a whole, I know this next
chapter will be one for the books. The excitement to work with KaLeigh Lee, the
Manager of Philanthropic Operations, is unlike any other! I have a feeling we are
going to make a pretty great team! Thank you MHP and thank you to our
community for entrusting in me this role to be your new MHP Foundation Executive
Director. I will not let you down!

Breaking News: The MHP Foundation is now accepting grant
applications for nonprofit organizations who support MHP's
charitable initiatives.
Social determinants of health have been a central focus and mission addition
at MHP and the MHP Foundation for the past few years. There are so many
factors that contribute to healthcare, and we understand our organization
cannot act on all of them...
...but our community can and will.
We are excited to announce a brand-new grant application process for
nonprofit organizations also working on social determinants of health and/or
charitable initiatives related to improving healthcare.
Let's work together.

The simple, online Interest form is open for submission year-round. Projects
or ideas that match with our mission, inspire social determinants work, or
problem-solve for established community needs will be sent an application to
apply. Grant applications will be reviewed at the next MHP Foundation Board
of Directors' meeting.
We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to our nonprofit partners!
EMPLOYE E G R A N T S : T O GE T H ER WE ARE
The employee project grants have been off to an amazing start! Watching
employees act on patient need directly is an awe-inspiring experience. As a
quick reminder, each September, departments are invited to apply for grants
at the MHP Foundation to help them do their jobs better for patients. This is
an opportunity for them to try a new program, explore a new idea, or get that
just-out-of-reach budget item. Since we began Together We Are in 2019, we
have seen amazing patient care right along with empowered employees.
