2022 Golden Fish Habitat Stewardship Workshop

The BCWF’s Fish Habitat Restoration and Education Program invites you to join the 2022 Golden Fish Habitat Stewardship Workshop.

What you will learn:

Participants will gain hands-on experience in areas such as riparian and stream health assessments while completing a Rapid Health Assessment for Small streams, developed by Cows and Fish. We will cover topics such as water quality measurements and monitoring, invertebrate sampling, and their relationship to a healthy watershed. During this free 2-day workshop, participants will hear from guest speakers about the traditional use of the area, human impacts, and the importance of this area for native fish and wildlife.

This workshop will feature a mix of demonstrations and talks from knowledgeable presenters including:

  • Brian Gustafson (Biologist and Executive Director for the Golden Rod and Gun Club)
  • First Nation Representatives
  • Kyla Rushton, BCWF Wetland Assessment Coordinator

The BC Wildlife Federation reserves the right to postpone the workshop within a 24-hour period before the start time if advised to do so by partner groups or to follow Provincial Health Orders. Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email, and 7 to 10 business days before the workshop, you will receive an Information Package including the meeting location and further instructions.
