Notes from the Archive: Call For Ephemera

One area of the College Archive in which there are many gaps is what is loosely termed the 'ephemera' collections - flyers, leaflets, posters, term cards, programmes, tickets, photos, menus, and many other types of material relating to clubs and societies, events and general life in College.

Although there have been sporadic attempts to fill the gaps through the years, and some very generous donations of private collections of material, we have never managed to embed a process of acquiring this sort of College record systematically. This is largely because the generations of creative College members who arrange events and create publicity materials for them of course move on every 3-4 years, and the message is lost again.

If you have ANY of this sort of material you would be happy to see preserved as part of the historical record of the College, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If you are in College and have physical material to donate, you can simply leave it in the Archives pigeon hole at the Porters' Lodge, otherwise pop it in the post to us at Archives, Robinson College, Cambridge, CB3 9AN. We would also be more than happy to accept donations of digital copies to archivist@robinson.cam.ac.uk. Thank you!
