Loyola University Kenya

Thank you for supporting Loyola University in Molo, Kenya

The First Jesuit University in Eastern Africa

Why A Jesuit University in Eastern Africa?

  • The number of college-aged students far exceeds the number of university seats available in Eastern Africa.
  • Students, especially from Jesuit secondary schools, recognize that they need university degrees to qualify for desirable jobs.
  • Jesuit universities have a proven track record of attracting high-quality faculty in a wide range of disciplines throughout the world.

The Jesuits have been successful educators in Eastern Africa for more than 65 years, principally in high schools.

Current Jesuit secondary schools in Eastern Africa:
•  Ocer Campion (Gulu, Uganda)
•  Loyola High (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania)
•  St. Peter Claver (Dodoma, Tanzania)
•  Loyola Secondary (Wau, South Sudan)
•  St. Joseph Technical Secondary (Nairobi, Kenya)
•  St. Aloysius Gonzaga (Nairobi, Kenya) – founded and sponsored by the Christian Life Community, with Jesuit support

All six schools were built with worldwide and local support.
