Adoptions

Adopting an animal is a fulfilling experience. When you adopt, you provide a loving home to an animal in need and are repaid with unconditional love!

It’s time to meet your match.

We take a hands-on approach that considers personality, behavior, other household pets and more, to make sure you find your perfect pet.

Our adopters are unique individuals with one-of-a-kind personalities – just like our animals!

Furry, feathered, scaled or smooth? Couch potato or workout buddy? There’s a match for everyone!

3 simple steps to adopt

View available pets online or in person

Begin the process by checking out our available pets to find someone you’re interested in. Our website is updated in real-time, so you can always double-check an animal’s availability before visiting.

Meet your match

Adoptions are completed in person on a first-come, first-served basis (except for large barnyard pets). No appointment is needed for animals at the Adoption Center. You will meet with our adoption counselors to find the best match for you!

Meet Zoey, our featured pet!

Say hello to Zoey! This five-year-old little lady is fun-loving and looking for adventure. Zoey has plenty of pep in her step to be your running buddy or your next great fitness coach, and she loves the water so much that she might be part mermaid. . She is such a happy girl; her joy and sly, playful attitude are contagious. Zoey enjoys bouncy, active play with other dogs and could be a great playmate for a dog with a similar playstyle.

Adoption FAQs

Usually, yes! We do same-day adoptions whenever possible. In some cases, you cannot take your new pet home the same day for medical or behavioral reasons.

No appointment is needed! We are open Tuesday – Saturday 10 am – 6 pm. We are closed daily from 1 pm – 2 pm for animal naptime.

Yes, you can adopt from us even if you live outside of the county. You will still need to visit us in person.

We created naptime for the animals in order to give them a much needed break. It can be stressful living in a kennel and meeting new people. Giving our animals some quiet time allows them to relax. During this time we turn the lights off, lock the doors, and give the animals some “me” time!

Because we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, we are unable to hold animals for potential adopters. You can always check our website to see if an animal is still available before making a visit.

While we don’t offer adoption trials, our return policy allows you to bring your pet back within 30 days for a full refund (unless you adopted your pet during an adoption promotion or the regular adoption fee is less than $10). If it has been more than 30 days since your adoption, then we require that you make an appointment first.

We encourage dog meets between the resident dog(s) and a potential dog adoptee. We can also facilitate meetings between spayed/neutered resident rabbits and a potential rabbit adoptee. While we cannot conduct interspecies or cat meets, your Adoption Counselor will go over how to facilitate slow, appropriate introductions between the animals in your home and your new pet.

We take every precaution to ensure animals are adopted out healthy, but we cannot guarantee the health of any animal. We are unable to provide medical care after adoption. You are responsible for future veterinary appointments if your new pet gets sick.
